about
The DLM gets a little harder here than the last release. Rocked up Chicago style blues with Tyler-esque vocals and hot lead guitar playing the fills.
On the first level this song describes some of the thoughts that used to go through my head when I was playing in bar bands watching the girls dance. Later It recalled the feeling I had when I pulled up 4 Aces on a Video Poker machine.
I always wanted to write a tune with this kind of beat and riff. The guitar sounds are the ones I like to hear. Muscular without being obscene.
These things are always so weird when they say who do you sound like. It is so presumptuous to say "I sound like Steve Tyler" but that is what they're asking! Also I liked the power that the Black Crowes display, and had them in mind when picking the sounds.
I used Logic Pro for all of this, except the T-Racks plug ins to master and EQ the vocals and drums.
Rock on Baby
lyrics
Baby
How'd you make it look so good
I aid Baby
How'd you make it look so good.
I just can't believe it
I can't wait to see it
The way you dress it up drives me crazy
Baby
How'd you make it look so good
You're a once in a lifetime
And for one with your style
A man is allowed to step out honey child
Baby
How'd you make it look so good
2nd verse
Baby
How'd you make it look so right
Baby
How'd you make it look so right
Ooh the way you shake it,
You won't have to fake it,
I have ways to dri-ive you crazy
Baby
How'd you make it look so right
It won't take me all night,
It won't take you long
You might not see it comin but it gets there real strong
Baby
How'd you make it look so right
3rd Verse
Baby
How'd you make it look so good
Baby
How'd you make it look so good
You don't want to waste it,
I can't wait to taste it
One of us is gonna go crazy
Baby
How'd you make it look so good
It may be tomorrow
It May be next week,
But one of these days I'm gonna hit that thing
Baby,
How'd you make it look so good
