about

I spent about a year and a half unemployed, it was a very frustrating experience for me. I sent out so many applications and really all that ever showed up in my email was spam. It was hard to believe that with all the skills I had, there was no use for me.

lyrics

I got no money,
I lost my pride
The folks around me
Are on the other side

Not too much hope
The future's looking bleak
No present for the loved ones
I'm feeling pretty weak

Merry Merry Christmas,
But not a Happy Holiday
Jesus comes to save us
Don't think there's any other way.

The pressure in my chest
It's the feelings that I have
When I go out shopping
It brings up a painful past

No one seems to see me
They just send lots of Spam
And all the folks in my position
still hold out their hand for a

Merry Christmas,
But not a Happy Holiday
Jesus comes to save us
Don't think there's any other way.

The jobs in all the want ads,
Ask for someone else.
The skills I have that no one needs
Just put me on the shelf.

No one ever answers me
Even if I fit.
I seem to be invisible
but still I must admit, it's a

Merry Christmas,
But not a Happy Holiday
Jesus comes to save us
Don't think there's any other way.

I'm praying for the lotto,
It seems the only way
I'll make through next year
with all these bills to pay.

I cut off my insurance,
I stopped going to the gym
I just hope my poor drumming
Will be Ok with Him. Sing it

Merry Christmas,
But not a Happy Holiday
Jesus comes to save us
Don't think there's any other way.

The leaf blowers are coming
to wake me up again
Why did I go to college
To make less than them

You'd think with all the training
and all the time I've spent,
Learning to play music
Would help me pay the rent

Merry Christmas,
But not a Happy Holiday
Jesus comes to save us
Don't think there's any other way.

It goes beyond just money
It goes beyond the pride
It has to do with thinking
I'm worth something beside
an email or your sales
a number on your list
A target for your ads
That seem to promise this.

Merry Merry Christmas,
But not a Happy Holiday
Jesus comes to save us
Don't think there's any other way.
